I am a birth worker, mother, lover of humanity, and documentary photographer. As a doula, I see myself as a space maker, map-reader, labyrinth walker. I often use the term “birth sherpa” or “guide” as I believe I cannot cross the threshold of parenthood for you; rather help you navigate the terrain and map out the best course for you. I not only believe in advocacy, education and evidence based information, but I also draw on fairytales and ancient myths in our prenatal appointments as a way to look into the metaphorical journey of birth and transformation. I love diving into the anthropology of birth itself and exploring what we need to feel safe and secure during our birth, not just as humans but as mammals as well. I truly believe birth is both an art and science—it speaks its own language.

Attending births remains as much an honor and privilege now as it was at my very first birth. No matter how your path to parenting unfolds, I truly believe that our bodies and our babies deserve to be surrounded by a chorus of love and respect as we welcome our children into this world.

I am a birth and postpartum Doula, lactation educator-counselor, and birth and postpartum photographer. I believe that birth is a rite of passage and however you choose to birth should be honored. For a woman the transition into motherhood is an opportunity to let go, listen, and receive. My intention is to inform and empower women to trust their inner knowing and support them through the transition from pregnancy to motherhood.

As a doula, I work with women from early on in their pregnancy through their birth and postpartum experience, and have expanded my practice to include postpartum support focusing on the principles of Ayurveda to heal and nourish women after birth with food and massage. As a birth and postpartum photographer, it is an honor to capture those intimate moments of labor, birth, and the bonding between mother and child.

Pregnancy and birth hold the power to heal and transform and can bring forward emotions, past experiences and fears. I’m called to this work because I believe thriving parents create happier families and a kinder, more peaceful world.

I specialize in providing support throughout the childbearing year including fertility counseling, loss support for pregnancy release, comprehensive preparation for labor, and assistance integrating the birth experience. Having attended both home and hospital deliveries since 2009, I've witnessed first-hand how the journey of pregnancy and labor impacts life for years to come.

Our work together is supported by my decades of experience in the fields of holistic health, family dynamics and women's wellness. It's my privilege to hold the lantern light as your unique needs and desires lead the way. I’m a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and hold a degree in Psychoneuroimmunology from UC Berkeley.

I attended my DONA International birth doula training in November of 2014 and postpartum doula training in May 2016, but my path to birth work really started 15 years ago with the birth of my daughter. It was then I realized birth can be a transformative experience. I am passionate about supporting families to honor their instincts, make informed decisions and maintain their place as the impetus of their birthing experience. My postpartum doula practice focuses on the nurturance of new parents in many aspects including food, guidance, listening and creating a space free of judgment to enjoy your new baby.

Drawing on my lifelong love of food and holistic wellness as the foundation for my own life and support of my clients, I have a deep passion for women’s health and wellness and believe that food plays a vital role in healing the body. During the postpartum period, I am there as a doula and holistic chef to nourish and support both the mother and the family as a whole. I believe that food can make a dramatic difference in the body's ability to heal itself and that proper nourishment is essential to maternal wellness in the postpartum time. A woman who is fed well with nutrient dense foods will better replenish her minerals, vitamins and nutrients which means she's less likely to suffer from issues down the road such as bone density loss, thinning hair, hormonal imbalance, difficult menopause, etc. Additionally, a woman who is well-cared for will have more energy to give to others. The mental and physical health of the mother should be the priority during this time- that is what will enable her to give the best care possible to her new child. I'd love to show you that you can experience life as a new mother feeling strong, well cared for and radiant. I serve as an open-hearted guide who answers questions and provides much needed assurance from a gentle, non-judgmental, holistic perspective, allowing you to develop your own unique parenting style. My goal as a postpartum doula is to offer just the right amount of knowledge and support to empower you to embark on your parenting journey from a confident, informed space.

Hola! I’m Adela, an LA native; born and raised in South LA. My passion for birth work started through my own experiences in pregnancy, and postpartum. My own experiences made me realize that although people have been giving birth for centuries there is no standard for the way birthing people are treated. This drives me to advocate for change, and remind people of how strong they are. I believe birthing people from all backgrounds should be trusted, treated with kindness, and empowered through their experience. When I’m not doulaing you can find me sharing snacks with my crazy toddler, or telling my partner something about the current moon phase.

I grew up in Hungary and have been amazed by the beauty of pregnancy, birth, newborns and nursing mothers since I was a teenager. In college, I studied to be a bilingual nursery teacher and specialized in infant and newborn development. While pursuing my degree, I started to work with families privately as a mother's helper (I was a postpartum doula before I even knew the official name of the practice!) I provided postpartum help in Hungary for 8 years, before moving to the US in 2014.

Here, I officially trained as a Postpartum Doula, a Birth Doula, a Teen Educator, and a Lactation Educator and Counselor.
I passionately serve in the above-mentioned professions in the greater Los Angeles area and I am always pursuing ways to expand my training and deepen my knowledge about how to better support parents through their pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.

As women our lives form a tapestry of our experiences and transitions. My favorite transition has been that of motherhood. The greatest joy and most powerful experiences of my life have been carrying, birthing, and raising my four, amazing, adult children and recently my grandson.

I learned how much immense love the heart is capable of holding and capacity we have as women to intuitively raise our children. I personally understand the struggles of both traumatic birth and postpartum mood disorders and know how challenging recovery can be without support. I bring the tools I have learned for healing to my postpartum doula practice as well as my extensive knowledge as a newborn care specialist. For over twenty-five years I have been dedicated to working with and supporting women through fitness, health, and transitional transformation, as a sexual violence recovery mentor, self-esteem empowerment coach. I am passionate in my desire to serve and support you and your loved ones through this magical, powerful, and transformational journey.

Hi! I’m Lauren Veca, a DONA Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula. I started my practice in 2003 in New York City. After the birth of my son in 1999, I realized how important it is to support new families through birth and postpartum. Not only am I able to help support new parents, but I always learn something new through their process.

I have had the privilege of running a New Parents group, and taught an Infant Care class for Spence Chapin Adoption Agency.

Being able to be present at a birth, and to be able to support and nurture these families as they navigate being parents is truly a gift.
